Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are all said to be keeping close tabs on his development at Selhurst Park, with one eye on a potential summer move for the Ivory Coast global.

The south London side have not earned a single point without Zaha in the side this season and his impressive performances have led to speculation surrounding his future.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham are interested in signing Zaha from Premier League rivals Palace this summer, while The Sun has credited Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City with interest in the 25-year-old winger.

The Ivorian picked up the Player of the Month award for April as he scored four and assisted once, helping the club on their way to an unbeaten month.

McAteer is full of praise for the work Hodgson has done at Selhurst Park and also believes the former Liverpool boss is a great character, having got to know him personally.

"I would be very unhappy to see the day he leaves the club, I hope he will be here long after I am".

'I think the way he helps the team out defensively, we've seen an improvement there or we've seen him do more for us over the course of the season, ' Hodgson added.

"Obviously there is going to be interest, I think the sooner he dismisses that, go away and enjoy himself and then come back for pre-season [the better]".

Crystal Palace looked destined for the drop earlier in the season when they lost their first seven games without scoring a goal, but Zaha and his team-mates completed a remarkable turnaround under Roy Hodgson. These are the types of things I'm talking about.
