Assassin’s Creed Odyssey leaks: is this the sequel to Origins?

Right before E3 Assassin's Creed Odyssey has been leaked, and Ubisoft has since confirmed it too.

Kotaku's sources also confirmed that Assassin's Creed Odyssey is set for release in Ubisoft's fiscal 2019, which ends March 31, 2019. If the leak holds water at all, we will for sure be hearing about it at E3. It seems to have been the right decision, as Assassin's Creed Origins was well-received when it hit PS4, Xbox One and PC previous year.

When Assassin's Creed: Origins launched, it did so to some solid reviews, with many gamers believing the latest action-adventure title to be the best of the franchise. The promotional item, seen below, clearly bears the Assassin's Creed Odyssey name. The video concludes with the Assassin's Creed Odyssey branding.

The game will reportedly introduce some new features to the franchise, including dialogue options.

The two characters are not interchangeable, so you will get to choose to play the entire game with either one. Whether the game will factor in the events of that poem remains to be seen.

The info dump also says that naval battles will be a big focus once again, similar to Assassin's Creed 4. Insiders claim that the new game will be out in less than a year and will have new gameplay elements.

It's worth a read, even if you should take all of that with a grain of salt. It's also worth remembering that Ubisoft has multiple teams working on games, so the extra year that Origins afforded that team, allowed this one to be in development for a year longer as well.
