During its E3 showcase on Sunday, Bethesda introduced a video of what appeared to be a comedic spoof for "Skyrim: Very Special Edition" - an Alexa "port" for its immensely popular game, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim". Skyrim on Alexa is actually real and can be played on your smart devices right now.

E3 2018 coverage at Giant Bomb: Still more commentary and news from E3, from our colleagues at Giant Bomb. All you need to do is download the app, click the Alexa icon while inside and tell her, "Alexa, open Skyrim".

Soon after the video went live, however, so did the Skyrim Very Special Edition Amazon Skill. Instead of marching through Tamriel through your Switch or PS4, Very Special Edition lets you play the game through your personal assistant, Alexa.

It's not clear if this is really the full game, but it's still pretty remarkable that Bethesda did it.

The listing encourages you to "explore Skyrim using the power of your own voice", and presumably works just as it did in the trailer - as a choose-your-own adventure you can enjoy by talking to yourself in your living room.

Unfortunately, it looks as if the skill is now only available in the U.S. version of the Amazon Alexa Skills store.
