Emre Can and Jon Flanagan set to leave LFC

Can will be followed out of Anfield by Liverpool academy graduate Flanagan, who played his final game for the club last September.

Liverpool have now formally announced that the 24-year-old will end his time at the club after making 167 appearances in all competitions since 2014.

Flanagan will also be leaving Anfield after the club declined to offer the defender a new contract. However, Brendan Rodgers opted to use him as a holding midfielder and later as a centre back.

Having been out injured for two months before then, Can was left out of Germany's squad for the World Cup in Russian Federation.

Liverpool have confirmed that both Emre Can will leave the club this summer, when his contract expires at the end of June. Juventus are expected to confirm the deal within the next week.

Sources in Italy are reporting that Can has agreed a four-year deal with Juventus.

A versatile player, Can initially played mostly at right-back but then gradually switched to his preferred position of central midfield as Liverpool emerged as one of the most exciting teams in the Premier League.

Liverpool also confirmed that youth players Toni Gomes, Paulo Alves, Mich'el Parker, Jordan Williams, Anthony Glennon, Jordan Hunter and Harvey Whyte will depart, while Yan Dhanda has agreed a free transfer to Swansea City.
