England ODI squad (for Scotland game): Eoin Morgan (capt), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Sam Billings, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.

Morgan was supposed to lead the World XI team, but now, in his absence, Shahid Afridi will assume the leadership duties. Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran and England fast bowler Tymal Mills were also added to the World XI squad.

Press Association Sport understands the problem will sideline him for seven to 10 days and Morgan himself is confident he will be fit to feature in England's one-day worldwide against Scotland at Edinburgh on June 10.

Meanwhile, Morgan suffered the injury during Middlesex's game against Somerset. "It's not a huge concern, it's one that hopefully we can manage after a week when the swelling goes down", he said.

It has also been confirmed that Sam Billings, who tasted Indian Premier League (IPL) glory with the Chennai Super Kings, will replace Morgan in the squad. The match is being organized to raise funds for stadia in the Caribbean that were badly damaged following Hurricanes Irma and Maria previous year, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a statement.

Skipper Morgan, who fractured the ring finger on his right hand while fielding for Middlesex against Somerset and will not play for the World XI in Thursday's charity Twenty20 game against the West Indies at Lord's, is confident of returning to take on Australia.

But the 31-year-old is expected to regain full fitness ahead of England's one-off encounter with Scotland on June 10 before they face Australia three days later.

Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi will lead the ICC World XI side against Windies at Lord's for the one-off T20 worldwide fixture.

Other names in the World XI squad include Rashid Khan, Adil Rashid and India wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik.

"It is not a bad crack but it is bad enough to keep him out of tomorrow's Middlesex game and the World XI game", Flower said.
