Neymar is now struggling with pain in his right ankle and missed Brazil's outdoor training session on Monday.

To the frustration of many in the French capital, Neymar returned home for much of his recovery process with the intention of being fully fit for the World Cup.

"Neymar left the training session with some pain in his right ankle because of the number of fouls he suffered in the game against Switzerland, " federation spokesman Vinicius Rodrigues said.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the striker left the session accompanied by the team's physiotherapist after suffering a pain in his ankle. There was one tweet which highlighted Germany's failure in Russian Federation during the 2nd World War while there was huge outpouring of joy for the Mexican team.

The Paris St-Germain forward, who broke a bone in his right foot in February, felt pain in his right ankle but took part in another session on Wednesday.

Unbeaten in their last 13 World Cup group games, winning 10 and drawing three, Brazil have topped their first-round group in every World Cup since 1982 and last failed to progress past this stage in 1966.

"What we can do is to calm down", Lasmar said. "We have seen footage of Costa Rica although the important thing is to play our football".

"Neymar injured??? No chance for Brazil to win now", one fan wrote.

And former Barcelona star Rivaldo, who tasted World Cup glory in 2002 and scored 35 goals in 75 appearances for Brazil, believes anything less than victory is unacceptable.
