Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters guested on The Late Late Show, and during the interview segment, James Corden asked Grohl about his relationship to Paul McCartney.

McCartney gave Corden an intimate tour of Liverpool, a.k.a. the birthplace of the Beatles, and along the way, they cruised through the Fab Four's greatest hits, including "Drive My Car", "Blackbird", and "When I'm 64".

Corden countered by saying that his first song, written with his school band, was called Girl Are You Ready. "Can you please, please help me" before joining Paul in a rendition of Drive My Car. McCartney shared that the two went into the next room to play the song for McCartney's father.

Penny Lane is also on the itinerary, where Sir Paul autographs a street sign and they spot the barber shop in the song, nipping in for a chat.

"I didn't feel it coming, it's too much for me". The entertainer performed "A Hard Day's Night", "Love Me Do" and "Back in the U.S.S.R." before inviting Corden on stage to sing "Hey Jude" as the finale.

During the film, the pair also visit one of Sir Paul's childhood homes, go to Penny Lane, and pop into a pub for an impromptu performance.

Explaining why the story made him so emotional, Corden said: "I can remember my grandad, who was a musician, and my dad, sitting me down and saying, "we're going to play you the best song you've ever heard".

The Late Late Show host was joined by the singer as they drove past famous Beatles landmarks.

The segment started with Corden seated in his auto before making a phone call and channelling one of The Beatles' best-known hits.

Then they pulled up at the home where he lived during his late teen years, and where he and John Lennon wrote their hit songs.
