Zara also has a close relationship with Prince George and was reported to be teaching him to ride a horse earlier this year so she clearly spends a lot of time with Kate and the children.

The couple chose the name "Lena Elizabeth", a lovely nod to Zara's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

A statement previously issued by Buckingham Palace read: "Mrs Michael Tindall was safely delivered of a baby girl on 18th June, at Stroud Maternity Unit".

A spokeswoman says the baby's first name is pronounced Lay-na, and her middle name is in honour of her great-grandmother, the queen.

Her husband was present at the birth.

The rep confirmed that the name doesn't hold a particular signficance, but was "just a name they liked".

When Zara - daughter of the Princess Royal - was born in 1981, she had no right to a title, being born down the female line as the offspring of a daughter of a sovereign.

"The weight of the baby was 9lbs 3oz".

Zara Tindall, the daughter of the Princess Royal, married ex-England rugby captain Mike in 2011.

Baby Lena is the seventh great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth.

Congrats to the happy couple on the wonderful new addition to the family.
