Tyson Fury next fight: August 18th on Carl Frampton undercard

Tyson Fury wins comeback after opponent is retired

This always was going to be an exercise to reintroduce Fury safely back into boxing after the trials and tribulations he has gone through in his two-year, seven-month exile.

Fury's first decent bit of work came at the end of the first round, when he landed a quick combination, but in the second referee Phil Edwards told him off for his conduct. Fury was into stride and Seferi was pulled out of the fight before the fifth.

"I'll have more rounds and fight a better opponent", said Fury of his next fight.

He never looked troubled against Albanian opponent Seferi, ten years his senior and nearly a foot smaller than the Briton, in what proved to be a farcical match-up. But he took me a few rounds, which I was more than happy with.

"We keep moving onward and keep moving forwards and the objective is to get him into contention to fight for the world title as soon as possible". I will go back home and have pizza and then get back on it tomorrow.

"I could have knocked him out in the first round but what good would that have done me?"

"At the end of the day, he needs rounds and he got four under his belt. I´ll take my career very seriously this time and enjoy every moment".

The eagerly-awaited comeback happened almost three years after the British boxer secured a triumph over Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015. After beating Wladimir Klitschko for the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles, Fury's life spun out of control and he had not fought since. He received his boxing licence in January after accepting a backdated two-year doping ban.

But Fury rediscovered his passion for boxing and claimed to have lost eight stones (112 pounds) ahead of facing Seferi.

Frank Warren, promoter to both Fury and Frampton, confirmed that the heavyweight would appear on the Belfast bill as he continues his comeback.

Joshua and Wilder are in talks to face each other in early 2019, while Warren plans on keeping Fury active until a world title shot happens, with his next bout scheduled to be at Belfast´s Windsor Park, Northern Ireland on August 18.
