What's next for LeBron James?

For the second time in his career, LeBron James suffered a sweep in the NBA Finals as the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second straight year to win back-to-back championships.

Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors reacts against the Cleveland Cavaliers during Game Four of the 2018 NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena on June 8, 2018 in Cleveland, Ohio.

He scored 23 points in what turned out to be the last game of the finals last night.

There was also plenty of reaction to James announcing he hurt his hand punching a locker-room blackboard after Game 1 (yes, the J.R. Smith game) and "pretty much played the last three games with a broken hand".

And LeBron James made it clear that, after 15 seasons, he still is in what he described as "championship mode", and his decision on what route to take in free agency will be driven by the desire to surround himself with "cerebral players".

Wherever he moves, the fans and detractors will no doubt follow.

Though Durant rightfully earned MVP, Stephan Curry led Friday night's game against the Cavs scoring 37 points. "This feels like reality", Kerr said.

The best postseason and maybe the finest season LeBron James ever had, not to mention perhaps his last with the Cavaliers, ended terribly. "It's incredible to be around guys like this, it helps you become a better basketball player and a better man".

Subir Jossan, a hand and orthopedic surgeon at the Centers for Advanced Orthopedics near Washington, DC, says playing with a broken hand risks more injury. "I'm telling you what I know".

Warriors small forward Kevin Durant was named MVP for the second consecutive year after averaging 28.7 points per game in the series, 10.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists, ESPN reports.

Now James, a free agent, has a hard off-season decision. With Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green leading the Warriors, LeBron and his cast of average teammates are overmatched in almost every category.

Lue, of course, hopes James decides to stay. "But after a game like that, I'm not in any position to talk about that". I think it's been our most inconsistent season. I had emotions of you just don't get an opportunity like this on the road versus Golden State to be able to get a Game 1, and I let the emotions get the best of me. However, no losing player has won the award since Jerry West in 1969 and voters weren't changing that for a team that just got swept.

"We want a different outcome", Warriors guard Shaun Livingston said.

Instead, Cleveland is only left to wonder if James is a game from leaving.
