Wonder Woman sequel photos reveal major character returns

But the first photos from the sequel reveal that Trevor is very much alive. The film became a massive hit for Warner Bros., becoming the 20th-highest domestic grosser of all time, as well as the second-biggest move of 2017 after "Beauty and the Beast". Wonder Woman, the crown jewel of the DC Extended Universe, is switching things up at least a little bit for its upcoming sequel, which, we now know, will be called Wonder Woman 1984.

Without divulging any spoilers, director Patty Jenkins shared the images on Twitter earlier today.

Patty Jenkins, the director of both Wonder Woman movies, tweeted an image Wednesday of Steve staring bemused in what appears to be a shopping mall. The tweet from the Israeli actress was also the first official confirmation that the sequel will be set in the 1980s, during the Cold War.

As previously announced, the film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal.

Gadot is, of course, reprising her titular role.

But even more weird is the fact that he hasn't aged at all, just like Wonder Woman.

"Ever since I got any success in Hollywood and people asked me what I was interested in doing and I noticed no one had made 'Wonder Woman, '" she said.

The "Wonder Woman" sequel is officially titled "Wonder Woman 1984", a nod to the film's new period setting.

Yeah, that's Trevor looking like Huey Lewis and Wonder Woman faced with a bevy of screens (hint, hint, 1984) - all showing advertisements (which could tie in to Cheetah's wealthy character). "I thought, 'My God, an origin superhero story is the brass ring and she's my favorite superhero'".
