Online records show authorities booked the controversial singer into Palm Beach County jail at 11 p.m.

Hillsborough County court records show that the warrant was issued for Brown's arrest on August 14, 2017, almost four months after the incident that took place on April 17.

Brown was scheduled to perform in Tampa on Friday.

The nature of the arrest warrant out of Hillsborough was not immediately available.

R&B singer Chris Brown found himself in handcuffs Thursday night (July 5) following a Florida concert. Vines told officers that while he was snapping photos, Brown punched him. For the sake of H.E.R., 6lack and Rich the Kid, who are all Brown's fellow tour mates, let's hope it all goes off without a hitch.

Brown has a history of violence, including a felony conviction for the 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, ahead of the Grammys. Brown ended his probation for that case in 2015. "The warrant was for a charge of felony battery". In 2017, he was kicked out of a rehab facility after smashing his mother's auto window during a family session, and a judge ordered him to enter another rehab program. The charge was reduced to a misdemeanor in court the next day, and Brown was released from jail without bail.
