‘House Of Cards’ Offers July 4th Message From The New President Underwood

Claire Underwood - sitting in a chair that resembles that of the Lincoln Memorial - wishes herself a "Happy Independence Day" in the video.

At the end of Season 5, former star Kevin Spacey's Frank Underwood resigned as President with wife Claire stepping into the Commander-in-Chief role.

Kevin Spacey, who portrayed Frank Underwood on the show and served as an executive producer, was dismissed past year after allegations of sexual misconduct.

How Frank will exit is not yet known, but it can't have been an easy task for writers to dispense with such a pivotal character, who, as of series five, appeared to have little likelihood of being written out.

Political drama House of Cards is one of the most popular of the Netflix original shows, but unfortunately it looks like the final season is right around the corner.

The actor was forced off the show late past year amid several sexual harassment allegations that came to light. "We will continue to work with MRC during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show". Wright says she and Spacey only knew each other between "action and cut".

I do not believe both things can be true: that Wright and the "House of Cards team" knew absolutely nothing about Spacey's alleged predatory behavior and that the kind of allegations in the reports by CNN about the set took place.

Wright was a director, executive producer and co-star.

Season six will contain eight episodes and see Diane Lane, Greg Kinnear and Cody Fern join the cast.
