'IHOB' Changes Back to 'IHOP,' Offers Pancakes to Customers

IHOP has changed its name back from IHOB

IHOP has changed its name back from IHOB

IHOb is back to being IHOP. A full stack is $5.79.

The tweet from "IHOP" also poked fun of itself for changing to "IHOB", saying "That's right, IHOP!"

IHOP announced on Facebook that its name change was a hoax to promote new burgers, according to KATU-2. "We'd never turn our back on pancakes (except for that time we faked it to promote our new burgers)". "And it worked. Look at us, two silly pancakes talkin' about burgers", they explained of their nearly-one-month marketing stunt.

The name change lit up social media. Following the IHOb name change, that figure increased to 30%, the highest score since late 2012.

Despite their relief to learn the name wasn't changing forever, some burger lovers asked that burning question we were all thinking.

"The pancakes haven't gone anywhere".

Or maybe we were just gullible. They said it was a way to turn their focus away from breakfast and to its enhanced burger menu. That's what we're after: "Giving more people more reasons to come to IHOP more often".
