Jorginho in London ahead of Chelsea move as Maurizio Sarri nears appointment

Antonio Conte "disgusted" with Chelsea treatment as sacking imminent

Conte, 48, had returned to full pre-season training at the start of the week despite huge uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, but with one year left on his contract the Blues have made a decision to relieve the Italian tactician from his duties in west London.

According to various reports, former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri will take over from Conte.

"Thanks for everything Boss", said Terry.

Current Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas also expressed his gratitude to Conte, whose FA Cup win in May does not appear to have been sufficient to keep him in the hotseat.

"During Antonio's time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup". "Great man, Great manager".

Chelsea´s Italian head coach Antonio Conte lifts up the English Premier League trophy, as players celebrate their league title win at the end of the Premier League football match between Chelsea and Sunderland at Stamford Bridge in London on May 21, 2017. "I wish you every success in the future".

Conte still had a year left on a revised deal he signed last summer after delivering the fifth Premier League title since Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea in 2003.

Chelsea are expected to announce Sarri's appointment on an initial two-year contract imminently - together with the signing of Italy worldwide midfielder Jorginho for a combined fee of €65 million (£57.5m) - after convincing Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis to release the 59-year-old from his contract.

Sarri has agreed a three-year contract worth €6.4m per season and his appointment is expected to be confirmed shortly by the west London club.

Former Spain manager Julen Lopetegui was appointed instead.

He was in charge of the Italian national team before taking over at the Bridge in 2016.
