A man in New Jersey made two shocking discoveries when he came home on Monday night: First, his wife was dead and, second, so was her lover - who he identified as a mechanic, according to law enforcement sources.

WABC reports the bodies of Tameka Hargrave, 39, and a mechanic were found dead Tuesday inside a Newark, N.J. parking garage. Sources close to the investigation told the media that the 39-year-old woman was having her vehicle repaired and was sleeping with the mechanic, 59, as some form of "payment" for the hours of work he was putting in. He said an alarm went off and he began investigating the smell to the garage where he found his wife, the mechanic and a running vehicle.

He found the bodies after smelling a strong odor of gas in his apartment.

However, NBC New York reported that the two were having sex in a vehicle in the garage when they were found dead.

As I tried to step to open the last garage door, I see the mechanic, he's laid out.

Johnson said he believes his wife's death could have been prevented if the apartment garage had adequate alarm systems in place. Both the married woman and the mechanic were pronounced dead at the scene, and police have ruled both deaths as an accident. We don't know, ' she said.

One of her daughters, Khalisha Johnson, told CBS she didn't understand why they hadn't been installed considering other security precautions had been taken. I want her to see me graduate high school.

"Basically she died because of carbon monoxide", Johnson said. Why can't they get smoke detectors?

Johnson is blaming the apartment complex for not having adequate Carbon dioxide alarm systems.

Johnson blamed the deaths on carbon monoxide poisoning.
