Melania Trump returns to border state amid separation outcry

Melania Trump Heads Back to Border, Without Her Jacket Distraction This Time

The first lady of the United States made his second trip to the border with Mexico, but now a place of her official visit was Arizona.

There may be no better story than this one to illustrate the challenges our country faces as illegal immigrants or smugglers (or both) try anything they can to penetrate the USA border unlawfully - and cruelly use children in the process.

"You're going to see firsthand today the amount of case that goes into the families and children of people we encounter here", Rodolfo Karisch, chief patrol agent in the Border Patrol's Tuscon sector, told Mrs. Trump as she began her visit.

Whether or not Melania Trump deigns to continue her diplomatic and humanitarian visits to the border detention sites, the issue is sure to take on a familiar partisan divide.

"Hello!" Melania said, greeting the child amidst a half-moon of eight holding areas in the short-term stay facility. Grisham did reinforce, however, that the First Lady did believe in the rule of law and the fair application of the law equally to all individuals.

Protesters spent Thursday morning outside a facility for detained children in Tucson that's operated by the nonprofit Southwest Key.

One government official recounted an illegal-immigrant woman who was raped during her journey and ended up delivering the baby in government care, while another Border Patrol official recounted a 6-year-old Costa Rican boy whose uncle abandoned him in the desert earlier this month with a bottle of Coke and a note telling agents how to contact the boy's mother. We will remind, closet Melania became the reason of indignation in the network: the first lady wore a jacket with the controversial inscription "I don't care, do you?" She tried to visit a similar center in McAllen, Texas, last week but was unable to go because of flooding.

"How are you?" she said, smiling.

A few protesters screamed from a nearby balcony that overlooked the compound's playground as Mrs. Trump's retinue shifted buildings.

After the motorcade arrived at the shelter, a security detail escorted the first lady through the back entrance. President Donald Trump undercut that statement, tweeting it was about his wife not caring about "fake news".

As Kate Bennett, CNN's first-lady correspondent, noted, protesters in Phoenix awaited the first lady's arrival alongside a large, inflatable replica of President Trump. She also toured the facility and met some of the children and teens there.
