But Sky in Italy understands negotiations between Napoli and Chelsea over Maurizio Sarri's appointment as Conte's potential replacement are in deadlock.

Antonio Conte returned to Chelsea's Cobham training ground on Saturday as the Blues began their preseason preparations with no resolution in sight to the uncertainty surrounding the club's head coaching situation, sources have told ESPN FC.

Wearing blue shorts, a green Chelsea top and a blue Chelsea hat, Conte, along with his coaching staff, got the players who were not involved in the World Cup involved in a number of drills with the Premier League season just 32 days away.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte returned to the club to oversee their first full day of pre-season training this afternoon, despite ongoing speculation over his future.

At the end of last season it seemed certain that Conte and Chelsea would part ways, but there he was, still the coach of the Stamford Bridge side, to the disbelief of numerous players.

The prolonged uncertainty surrounding Conte and Sarri has had a paralysing effect on Chelsea's transfer plans in a window already complicated by the World Cup and compressed by the Premier League's earlier deadline, set for August 9.

The Italian has one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Moses will, however, hope to be part of the squad when Chelsea kick-start their pre-season with a friendly against Perth Glory on July 23 before entering the International Champions Cup at the end of the month.
