Queen to miss christening of Prince Louis

Little baby Louis wore a handmade replica of the Royal Christening Robe, the palace said, which was made by the queen's longtime dressmaker, Angela Kelly.

The young prince was baptised using water from the River Jordan.

Why did William and Kate chose St James's Palace for Louis' christening?

Prince Louis is fifth in line to the throne.

It was the first time Meghan has attended a royal family event like this, having become an aunt to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in May.

In 2015, his sister Princess Charlotte was christened at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, a royal estate near England's eastern coast.

Frozen or not, just save us a slice of the royal cake, please.

The Cambridges have previously chosen close friends and confidantes for the role.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, and the Middleton's parents and siblings all attended the service.

A stern reminder that Prince Louis' christening tea was a strictly private celebration.

The royal family ― sans Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip ― showed up for Prince Louis Arthur Charles' christening on Monday.

As they left, Princess Charlotte, three, clutched an order of service as a souvenir, while Prince George, four, peered calmly at his baby brother.

Prince Louis' six godparents were also there.

Members of the Royal family and Louis' newly-announced godparents arrived at his christening at St James's Palace on Monday, with the youngest member of the family Cambridge being seen for the first time since his birth in April. He is a close friend of both Prince William and Prince Harry - helping to organise the former's stag do - and was dubbed the pair's "court jester".

Proud mum Catherine, 36, looked stunning in a cream dress, designed by the same fashion house that made her wedding gown Alexander McQueen, with ruched shoulders and a matching headpiece created by milliner Jane Taylor.

Kate's pregnant sister Pippa Middleton and her brother James Middleton were also at the ceremony.
