Guy Pearce Walks Back His Comments About “Handsy” Co Star Kevin Spacey

"I didn't know the man", Wright can be seen saying in an advance clip from an NBC interview that will air later.

Shortly after, Netflix fired Spacey from House Of Cards, and executives nearly considering dropping the incredibly successful politico-drama series.

Robin Wright is speaking out for the first time since her "House of Cards" co-star, Kevin Spacey, was booted from the Netflix series after sexual misconduct allegations. "I knew the incredible craftsman that he is", she said.

During Wright's interview on "Today", which weathered its own storm previous year after NBC fired then co-host Matt Lauer for sexual misconduct, when Guthrie pressed the actress, she emphasized her distance from Spacey. When Guthrie asked if Wright herself had ever experienced harassment during her long tenure in show biz, Wright laughed and said, "Of course".

In response, Spacey stated that he had no recollection of the incident that occurred when he was 26, and also used the opportunity to come out as gay, which was widely criticised, in a lengthy tweet.

Season five ended with Frank Underwood stepping down from the White House as wife and Vice President Claire Underwood, played by Wright, took over the presidency.

Guy Pearce says he regrets his comments on Andrew Denton's show Interview, where he labelled Kevin Spacey as "handsy" and said he was "thankful he was 29 and not 14" when he worked with him.

He wrote: "But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour".

"At that time, the shock was so intense all over the nation - for many reasons, many stories, many people". "I think that everybody felt that it was respectful to back off".

"I haven't heard from him and I don't even know how to reach him", Wright said.
