"This is why I am here".

With a little less than two hours left for Premier League sides to do deals, Everton are cutting it close but they remain confident of taking both deals over the line in time. Six months later and after a good World Cup, they have moved him on for nearly three times what they paid for him, despite him never quite performing during his short stay. This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to competing here. "I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here". The Colombian defender completed a dream move to Barcelona in the January transfer window, but could never manage to establish himself as a regular in the first-team squad.

The La Liga champions confirmed in a statement: "FC Barcelona and Everton FC have reached an agreement over the transfer of the player Yerry Mina". Barcelona wanted 20 million euros for him but nobody was willing to put it on the table.

Marca says Barca have sought to armour themselves from any blow-back over Mina's sale by including a buy-back clause in the transfer.

"Barcelona would like to publicly express their thanks to Yerry Mina for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the best for the future".

Everton have signed Portugal global Andre Gomes on a season-long loan from Barcelona. He has made just six appearances during his time in Spain.

Gomes has always been a fringe player at Barcelona, despite signing for a fee of £31m plus €20m in add-ons in 2016, with only 46 appearances made in La Liga since joining from Valencia.

The 25-year-old joined Barcelona in a £42m deal in 2016, less than a fortnight after helping Portugal win the European Championship.
