Man Utd: Jose Mourinho has 'no problem' with chief executive Ed Woodward

Mourinho has faced a turbulent week in the press in the wake of his side's 3-2 defeat to Brighton Sunday, while it was claimed he told friends he would have quit any club other than United due to a lack of backing from above.

When asked if his relationship with Woodward is "fine", Mourinho replied: "Of course".

Monday's match at Old Trafford will kick off at 19h00 GMT.

Mourinho: How do I feel?

Mourinho spoke for around eight minutes - much shorter than is normal - and said he had not read reports suggesting a falling out between the two.

But United boss Mourinho said: "At this moment he is a player - not a number".

The manager has always been unconvinced by Martial and their troubled relationship hit a new low when the player was fined two weeks' wages - about £180,000 - for leaving United's pre-season tour of the USA last month without the manager's blessing to attend the birth of his baby son.

"I don't know 10% of what is written or what is coming on the TV screens so I'm not the right one to ask", he said.

"So, I'm really happy with the work we did in the week, with the players' commitment and I look forward for the game".

After the defeat at Brighton, Paul Pogba admitted his attitude had been wrong.

"And I think when a player goes on loan, he does so to play in his best position". "Against Leicester we didn't make mistakes, we played well, we won".

Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire were both targeted by United, though neither move transpired and Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly were partnered at the back against Brighton at the Amex.

United and Spurs will meet at Old Trafford on Monday evening before Mourinho and his side travel to Burnley and Watford in their following two fixtures.

Nemanja Matic, Alex Sanchez and Antonio Valencia all missed the trip to the south coast but has been back in training this week and all three could be included for the visit of Spurs.
