Actually, combined PSOne, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP, PS Vita sales are significantly over 500 million - the brand has moved a whopping 525.3 million units to date.

Joining the ever-expanding collection of special edition PS4 consoles from Sony is the PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition.

There is no word on if these "extra special" units will include anything more than the standard pack-ins of the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro. Only 50,000 will be made, and each one will come with a commemorative copper plate on the front with that console's serial number etched into it.

For those who don't want to purchase the PS4 Pro, the 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 will also be available for $64.99 Dollars / $74.99 CAD.

If you're as old as I am, then you'll remember the day Sony launched its first PlayStation way back in 1995 (1994 in Japan).

On top of the translucent blue design and its matching accessories, you're also getting a 2TB hard drive with this console. The matching DualShock 4 controller will be available separately for $64.99, while Sony will also launch a limited edition Gold Wireless Headset featuring the same translucent blue design with copper accents for $99.99. As with the Gold Wireless Headset, it will be sold in limited quantities in early September 2018. They'll also be available from August 24, again in limited numbers. In celebration of this feat, Sony is making a limited edition PS4 Pro system that's blue and translucent and super slick.
