Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes join Everton

Everton clinched the signing of their top defensive target, Yerry Mina, in a potential £28.5million deal as Marco Silva made three deadline-day signings to continue the reshaping of his squad.

Upon joining Everton, Mina told evertontv, "It is important that the club want to fight for something". "This is why I am here".

Several Premier League sides including West Ham and Chelsea had been in the hunt for the Brazilian winger while AC Milan also expressed an interest. "This is a great opportunity for me", said Mina.

But Tottenham ended the window as the only club not to bring in a new player while Manchester United were unable to bring in the central defender they were reported to be keen to recruit.

The 23-year-old only joined Barcelona from Palmeiras in the January transfer window. Everton will pay 2.6 million euros for the year's loan.

Barcelona can buy the centre-half back for around £30m if he does well at Goodison but, for now, he is an Everton player.

Another addition from the Nou Camp, midfielder Andre Gomes, joined on a season's loan.

It was during Mina's negotiations that they discussed the additional progress for Andre Gomes, and luckily concluded a deal for the Portuguese in time.

Barcelona have included a set buy-back option in their deal with Everton for Yerry Mina.

The Toffees are hopeful of signing the two players before the 5pm deadline and according to Catalan daily Sport, they are conducting the final round of talks to provide the finishing touches to the agreements.
