Ariana Grande breaks down on Twitter

Michaels then told Miller, who wrote the SNL oral history Live From New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live, that the Ariana Grande/Kanye debacle proves that the show is still at the height of its popularity.

Between the terrorist attack at her concert, to the recent overdose of Mac Miller, it's no surprise that Ariana is in need of some time off.

'We had Ariana drop out for emotional reasons two days ago, ' Michaels, 73, said on the Origins With James Andrew Miller podcast.

Ariana Grande has left fans concerned after admitting it had been a tough month, and asking for "one okay day" during an emotional series of tweets.

Michaels may have been referring to Grande's former boyfriend Mac Miller, who was found dead of an apparent drug overdose on September 7.

After fans expressed their worry, the "God Is a Woman" singer wrote that she regrets her initial tweets. "Just one. Pls", she wrote, adding: "I'm so exhausted pls".

In the now-deleted messages, she said "Can I please have just one okay please".

Since that time, Grande has taken time for herself, choosing not to attend the Emmy Awards with her fiance, Pete Davidson, or to make any public appearances.

On Thursday, Grande tweeted: "ur angels in my life.it's just been a tough month. i'm trying to get my work done and get back to normal and it's hard and i'm human and exhausted. sorry i let u in or anxious u. i shouldn't have tweeted. i kno better".

As much as I love Ariana Grande, I'm happy she's practicing some self-care.

"But, yeah, it's a real thing".
