Harrison Smith: Aaron Rodgers 'can put the ball wherever he wants'

Aaron Rodgers told the media he has a sprained knee and that it's been "pretty sore the last three days". He reached for the back of his left leg after a Bears lineman landed on him during a sack.

"All I'm going to say on that is, he's on the right track", inside linebackers coach Glenn Pires said.

Instead, he did rehab work on the side and extensive exercises with the medical staff inside the stadium.

"Whatever coach feels like is best for me as far as playing time-wise, if it's one quarter or an entire game, whatever that may be, I'm just with it".

Wearing a brace could be an option, depending on how the quarterback feels later in the week.

For now, it appears that Rodgers is doing everything he can to make sure he'll be able to play, but again, he's not willing to promise that he'll be out there against Minnesota.

There's reason for optimism for Rodgers' status entering week two, and even more so considering he has yet to offer up any advice for his backup, DeShone Kizer.

Every year, there are players who take monumental steps forward and backward. "So, we'll see what tomorrow brings".

"I think anytime a player comes off a game where he's injured, obviously there's the hope of playing", McCarthy added. "He'll be given the whole week to get ready".

"It's super painful, and you've just got to suck it up and play through it", Rodgers said at his locker.
