Chasing a first English title since 1990, Liverpool swept to a fifth successive win at the start of the Premier League on Saturday with goals from Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino clinching a 2-1 win at Tottenham.

Firmino was transported to Moorfields Eye Hospital to be assessed and manager Jurgen Klopp admitted after the game that he didn't know the severity of his forward's injury. We had in all the games really good moments.

"I'm not the type of person who waits for problems but I'm old enough to know they will come".

Speaking ahead of Spurs' game against Liverpool, Pochettino said, "Harry has all the profile of the midfielder - flawless".

The last time it happened was 110 years ago, back in the 1908-09 season.

Firmino almost set the tone after 45 seconds with a goal that was disallowed when Sadio Mane was ruled to be offside, and though Michel Vorm parried away an attempt by Mohamed Salah after 22 minutes, Liverpool struck first behind Wijnaldum.

Erik Lamela's late goal for Spurs ensured a nervy ending but the result never appeared in doubt, much to Klopp's delight.

He said: "It was a very hard game for us because we made big mistakes around their goals".

"Winning here is so hard, so unbelievably hard, not that I would never expect that only because we came here and tried to our bit because you need the performance that the boys delivered today".

Liverpool started the game in extremely quick fashion, which resulted in the ball being in the back of the net within the first minute.

And Klopp is sure Kane will find his best form, even if he hopes it comes after Saturday.

"The performance was better than the result and the result is flawless", he said. But only five per cent less and we would probably have lost. I only saw the situation from 60 yards away. "That is how it is, the body needs the time only to calm down from an intense season - they didn't have it. We don't play Champions League or what?" said the German, whose side now top the table with a 100 per cent record after four matches and are widely seen as the main challengers to defending champions Manchester City. A draw was fantastic for us - maybe we did not deserve to win. If we score the goal and it's 2-2 then we talk about character and personality.
