McGregor tweeted the morning after losing the Nurmagomedov.

Meanwhile, McGregor's father Tony has been similarly focusing on the future after witnessing his son's defeat in Las Vegas last night. Round 2 started off more to McGregor's liking with the two fighters standing toe-to-toe and Khabib caught McGregor with a cracking right hook sending him sprawling to the floor before retaking the mounted position and dishing out the punishment.

The Russian then jumped out of the octagon and attacked McGregor's teammate Dillon Danis, which resulted in a massive brawl.

Mr White confirmed that the Nevada State Athletic Commission had seized footage of the bout known as UFC229, withheld Nurmagomedov's purse but released McGregor's $4.6 million purse after determining his side had done nothing wrong in the melee and launched an investigation.

That's when a brawl inside and outside the Octagon involving both camps forced both fighters and multiple team members to be escorted out of the Octagon by security and police.

White said that it would be now up to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to decide if Nurmagomedov would face further sanctions.

He also held that Khabib's performance "legitimized every criticism anyone has ever had" in regards to McGregor's career.

"Again, we need to see how this plays out".

After a lengthy delay, Nurmagomedov eventually addressed a media conference. "I know this is not my best side".

"Khabib said "I'm ready for this", but I said the other 20,000 people in here aren't ready for this".

Nurmagomedov and McGregor both left the ring before the championship belt could be put around Nurmagomedov's waist. I thought people would throw whatever they had into the octagon and it would be a risky situation, so I didn't do it. I'm sure Herb Dean was looking at it closely and considering saying to Conor, 'You've got to do something.
