Dodgers' Kershaw undecided on opt-out

Kershaw gave up five runs (four earned) in three-plus innings of Game 1. That was the catch Wednesday. Even while getting the win in Game 4, the Dodgers have scored just three runs over their last 22 innings, and those innings were all played in their own ballpark. That made it 2-1 Dodgers.

In a tied series with the Brewers, tensions are pretty high for the Dodgers as they're looking to avenge last season to get back and win the World Series.

Last year's Fall Classic, which saw the Houston Astros top the Dodgers in seven games, drew a litany of famous faces to Chavez Ravine, including John Legend, Tiger Woods, Kutcher and Kunis, Apatow and Mann, and Lowe.

There were no guarantees, one way or another, but Kershaw will be a free agent this winter and the Dodgers still need one more road victory to advance.

Baseball is still a business.

It was all for naught as Manny Machado grounded into what was his second double play of the game. "We've got some good contributions from guys at the bottom".

Removing Miley was Brewers' plan. Miley has yet to allow a run in 10.1 career postseason innings. Barnes waited out a first-pitch strike from the Brewers' Brandon Woodruff, then reached for another slider to shoot a single up the middle to score Chris Taylor from third base.

The series continues on Friday in Milwaukee; if the Dodgers prevail, they will be headed to their second consecutive World Series.

Counsell got Roberts to do this and then brought in his right-handed reliever nearly immediately.

The Brewers hadn't scored fewer than two runs in a game since Pittsburgh blanked them on September 22. He struck out nine, all on breaking pitches, and walked two. The Brewers were up only 1-0 at the time, but there have been moments in this series where that has seemed like an insurmountable deficit for the Dodgers.

Roberts said the fans who booed struggling catcher Yasmani Grandal had a right to do so, but said hearing it "is tough".

The team that hit a franchise and NL-leading 235 home runs in the regular season did it playing small ball instead, driving in all but one of its runs on singles.

Then Bellinger walked to the plate with two outs in the inning.

"It's probably a new pitch for him".

In the home clubhouse at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers have used two whiteboards to track their path to what would be the franchise's first title since 1988.

After a Game 3 loss Monday, the whiteboards read "7" at the start and end of the night.
