Wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat, he repeatedly complimented Trump, who nodded in agreement. "We have to bring jobs into America" West added, scolding "when we make everything in China and not America, we are cheating the country".

The Grammy victor alluded to the president as a father figure: "My dad and my mom separated so there was not a lot of male energy in my home and also I'm married to a family where, you know, there's not a lot of male energy", West said while appearing alongside Trump.

"I'm open-minded, I'm here".

"You stopped the war", he told Mr Trump. "They [Chicago residents] respect this guy".

On his way out the door, Jenkins reported that West said that he's going to Africa. "We have the right to bear arms".

According to reports out of the room where the meeting took place, West spoke for a solid 10 minutes, said he had been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and also said he's sleep-deprived.

"We can empower the pharmaceuticals and make more money", the rapper said.

The commutation came as a result of the influence of Kim Kardashian West, Kanye's wife, who visited the White House to discuss the case with the president.

West also proposed that Mr Trump get rid of Air Force One and purchase a hydrogen-powered aeroplane.

"The problem is illegal guns, not legal guns", West responded. Police officers are just like us, he said. But, he said, "This hat, it gives me power in a way".

West also argued that Trump deserved more respect, saying: "if he don't look good, we don't look good".

He criticized liberals who are pressuring him to oppose Mr. Trump.

"I think we need to care about all people", he said. Spectators at the show included Trump's son-in-law and top adviser, Jared Kushner, former National Football League star Jim Brown and the attorney for a gang leader serving time in federal prison. "That don't stop me, that's an invisible wall".

In perhaps the most surreal moment for an administration that has seen plenty of them, President Trump on Thursday welcomed Kanye West to the White House. "He's a smart cookie".

Seizing the spotlight from the typically center-stage president, West dropped the F-word, floated policy proposals - and went in for a hug.

The rapper then offered his thoughts on the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery in 1865.

She secured a pardon for a great-grandmother who had been serving a life sentence for drugs offences.

The club shared an image of the typically straight faced Kanye West, with the caption: 'The global break has got us like'.

One fan joked: 'Play him as a right winger he already knows how to play that role'. He recently wore a "Free Hoover" sweatshirt in promotional material ahead of his controversial appearance on "Saturday Night Live".
