[Update: Fix coming] Hilarious Pixel 3 XL bug adds a second notch to the side of the screen

Some Pixel 3 XL users are reporting a odd (and honestly pretty funny) glitch: the appearance of an extra notch located on the right-hand side of the phone's screen.

A number of Google Pixel 3 XL users reported a unusual bug that made the phone manifest an extra notch.

The good news is that it can be solved by a simple restart.

It appears the problem is to do with how the device handles cutouts when the screen rotates. Not to be confused with the old double dongle maneuver, this happens when a virtual side notch emerges out of nowhere to "complement" the physical screen cutout of the stock Android-powered 6.3-incher.

However, Google is expected to roll out a fix for the issue soon and I must say, Google took it up a notch (literally). So, imagine the irony of bug that adds a second notch to the side of the display.

What's worse than a huge notch at the top of your phone display?

There are also reports of a weird buzzing sound coming from the speaker, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity issues, and display problems.

Google is working on a software update for all Pixel phones after a rash of complaints about unsaved photos. The smartphone retailer has tweeted an image of the sale details, which shows that the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL retail sale offer will be available between November 1 and November 7.
