Rihanna Turned Down Performing at Super Bowl Over Colin Kaepernick Situation

Earlier this National Football League season, Variety reported that Maroon 5 will perform during the halftime at the Super Bowl in Atlanta. "They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy".

Quarterback Kaepernick, 30, was the first player to kneel during the U.S. national anthem.

The NFL has refused to comment on reports that United States singer Rihanna declined an invitation to headline the Super Bowl half-time show in support of Colin Kaepernick. She reportedly did so because she doesn't agree with NFL's stance on Colin Kaepernick. However, the NFL's stance on player protests has soured the allure for the marquee artists who already have a legion of fans. The league was plagued with National Anthem protests that season and in 2017.

Jay Z did the same.

"I said no to the Super Bowl / You need me, I don't need you", the Roc Nation mogul rapped on "APESHIT" off The Carters' Everything Is Love album.

As for who's performing in lieu of the Anti hit maker, Maroon 5 is set to be a headliner, according to what multiple sources have confirmed to our sister website, Variety.

If Us Weekly's source is accurate, that's quite a statement from the famous singer.
