In addition, the ballot is stuffed with the likes of Rage Against the Machine, The Cure, Devo, Janet Jackson, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, Roxy Music, Todd Rundgren, John Prine, MC5, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan and the Zombies.

LL Cool J and Kraftwerk were each unsuccessfully nominated four times in the past, while both MC5 and the Zombies have received three nods apiece to no avail.

On Tuesday (October 9), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their 15 nominations for the big honor!

This year's batch of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees bring us a list of those up for induction into the hallowed institution of music history. This is Smith's fifth time being nominated.

Fans can also participate by going to rockhall.com and can cast votes for the artist they believe to be most deserving. Six of the nominees are on the ballot for the first time, including Def Leppard, Prine, Roxy Music, Devo, Nicks and Rundgren.

Artists become eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of their first recording.

The class of 2019 will be announced in December. Voting is capped at one ballot per day. The 2019 induction ceremony will be held in Brooklyn on March 29th.

The 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were: Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, The Cars, Nina Simone, The Moody Blues and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
