The Samsung Galaxy A9 2018 has been officially unveiled and it boasts an intriguing world's first - four rear cameras.

With four cameras on the rear glass case, Samsung is touting this device as the flawless offering for the Instagram generation. Today, this device is finally available for purchase in Malaysia and it can be yours for RM1,299. Three colorways are available: Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink, with the latter two presenting eye-catching Huawei-style gradient finishes.

Moving on, the Galaxy A9 2018 sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, which has a maximum resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood is the unspecified octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz.

There's also a dual SIM slot with a dedicated MicroSD slot, and you get Samsung Pay as well as Bixby. The device is backed by a 3,800mAh non-removable battery and support adaptive fast charging. It has a 24MP f/1.7 main camera, 10MP f/2.4 telephone camera with 2X optical zoom, 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide camera and a 5MP f/2.2 depth camera.

With that being said, for selfies and video calls, you get a 24 MP single camera on the front having f/2.0 aperture.

Samsung withheld a good deal of information when it comes to the Galaxy A9 (2018)'s release date, pricing, and availability. With it enabled, a "Samsung Quad camera" watermark will be applied automatically to all photos captured using the device. You will be able to fit in a bigger landscape or more number of people with just a tap in camera interface.

There's not long to go now before the official unveiling of the Galaxy A9 - what else do you reckon it'll have in store?

Samsung's Galaxy A series has rarely yielded exciting phones - they're mostly mid-range devices with last year's S or Note specs in a more budget-friendly design. "In a world like this, everyone deserves access to the technology that delivers the most value in their eyes".

The Oppo R17 Pro, Samsung Galaxy A7, and LG V40 ThinQ that launched in recent weeks all sport such cameras.
