Beto O'Rourke vs. Ted Cruz

Triumph Insult Comic Dog: Ted Cruz So Racist He Got 9 AM Hour of ‘Today’

Just in time for Election Day, a moment of equal-opportunity, bipartisan hilarity, courtesy of "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert".

But Triumph seemed ready for the remark and hit Cruz with one parting shot. That mind is none other than Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (and the man behind him, SNL vet Robert Smigel).

Ted Cruz has made the case that O'Rourke's outside supporters are just more evidence of his being out of step with Texan voters on most issues, while O'Rourke has argued that Cruz is a dishonest yes-man to Trump, despite Trump having thrashed him in the primaries.

After interviewing some voters, Triumph found Beto, asking if it concerns him if half his base thinks they can vote for him through Instagram, and if he's anxious about Texas voting machines. Triumph shouts third degree burns at the senator like: "You can't ignore me, Ted!"

Cruz has highlighted his record and run a steady campaign characterizing O'Rourke as out of touch with Texas' conservative values. "Donald Trump for insulting his wife or that mongoose for eating his offspring".

"If Ted loses, do you think he'll end up back with his first love, that mute lady from The Shape of Water?".

After interviewing the candidates, Triumph joined in with Cruz supporters to chant that he is a "lion of the Senate". "See, because he's a disgusting fish monster". "I'm not 'overwhelming scientific evidence of global warming'". "Is that covered under the GOP healthcare plan?"

"Ted, is it true that you will defend the constitution at all costs?"

Then, finally, after years of waiting, Triumph finally came face-to-face with Cruz at a Republican rally. Triumph jokingly suggests that voters of color should "act more white" by dropping The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel into conversation, and mentioning Ed Sheeran as much as possible. "Just like Trump did to you". While he treats his wounds, watch the entire video from Monday night's Colbert show below.
