Overall, it's a more preppy style than the just-reviewed Fossil Q Explorist HR and Fossil Q Venture HR.

I think Fossil is offering a pretty compelling package at this price point, especially considering the hardware and newer chipset.

The Fossil Watch becomes officially available on Fossils website starting today, November 8 and will b e available in select Fossil retail stores around the globe on November 12.

Fossil is selling other bands in more colours for $35 CAD, so Canadians do have some alternatives.

"Over the last three years, Fossil and Qualcomm have collaborated closely to launch a series of products and have led the Wear OS by Google smartwatch segment", Pankaj said in a statement.

In terms of design, the Sport will come in six different colors (silver, blue, red, gold, rose gold and grey) over two case sizes of 41mm and 43mm.

The Fossil Sport is among the first smartwatches to contain the new Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip from Qualcomm. Fossil says you'll be able to get the watch, buy some straps, and maybe even win some prizes. The new OS has a better shortcuts menu, better-looking and easier to read notifications, improved gestures, Google Assistant built in, and a totally redesigned Google Fit app.

Fossil Sport seems to have a few things going for it: It's not too expensive at $255 (about £200 or AU$350), it claims to be the lightest Wear OS watch and it has lots of extras.
