The Brooklyn Nets' Caris LeVert suffered a gruesome injury to his right leg late in the first half of Monday night's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and if you still haven't seen the aftermath consider yourself lucky.

The NBA community was clearly upset of the incident, that some significant figures shared why LeVert's injury is more painful than it seems.

"Fortunately, tests performed this morning revealed that there are no fractures and only moderate ligament damage", said Dr. O'Malley.

LeVert doesn't require surgery on his dislocated right foot and is expected to return to play this season, the team announced Tuesday.

The pain of every injury worsens when it comes at the most unfortunate time.

O'Malley said LeVert will begin an unspecified period of rehabilitation and is "expected to return to full strength and resume all basketball activities without any limitations this season". But unlike those two star forwards, LeVert somehow managed to avoid a serious injury. The 24-year-old guard has emerged as their go-to player, the foundation of their rebuild, and had been garnering early All-Star buzz. He entered Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves averaging 19.0 points and shooting at a stellar 48 percent from the field. Thanks to this diagnosis, he'll get the unexpected chance to convert more at some point this season.
