Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif spoke by telephone with the European Union's foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, and his counterparts from Germany, Sweden and Denmark about European measures to counter the USA sanctions, the Iranian state news agency IRNA reported. The Islamic Republic is a preferred supplier for India, making the country the second-largest purchaser of Iranian crude after China due to sweeteners such as 60-days credit, free insurance and shipping, among others.

We expect Iran to continue implementing all its nuclear commitments in full, as set out by the JCPOA.

Two of the countries will completely cut off imports of Iranian oil, while the other six will "greatly" reduce their imports, Pompeo added. "But banks must be very careful that these are not disguised transactions or they could be subject to certain sanctions".

"Approaching regional and global concerns regarding Iran's conduct and policy rationally will serve that nation and the region better".
