"Bear Down - Low Down": Week 17 vs. Vikings

"Bear Down - Low Down": Week 17 vs. Vikings

Philadelphia would definitely be the hottest team entering the playoffs if they do indeed get in, having finished up the regular season winning five of their last six ball games, with the only loss being an overtime thriller to the Cowboys.

Defense travels, so the focus for Sunday's game will be the Bears defense once again stifling the Vikings' running game.

Now relax everybody, take a nice deep breath, let it out very slowly and let's talk this through.

The Bears are a beatable team, but the Vikings have been wildly inconsistent this season.

The physical and competitive nature of Sunday's 14-9 slugfest at Levi's Stadium was not lost on the Bears. They're guaranteed the #3 seed and at least one home game at Soldier Field. That's why they're praying the lure of the #2 seed and a bye will be enough to entice Nagy to play his starters and go for the win.

Are you anxious that since they beat Minnesota and Seattle, those two clubs will watch that tape and uncover secrets as to how to compete better the second time around? The 49ers, banged up as they are, need to at least keep it interesting.

Bears stifle Vikings en route to 24-10 victory

I suppose it's possible, but it certainly doesn't seem likely.

"I don't care who he called", Zimmer said.

I get that there is some mystique to the Eagles as defending champs, but they are still a team that has played as much bad football as they have good football this year.

Samantha Rivera reports from Halas Hall, keeping you in the loop on what you need to know for the Chicago Bears' week 17 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

One of the smartest things Matt Nagy has talked about all season long is controlling the things you can control. Where it gets interesting is what can transpire in the season finale. While it would virtually guarantee handing a division rival a trip to the playoffs, which the Vikings need a win to get, it would avoid any injuries to key players they'll need for the run in January. Say what you want about the 49ers' record (4-11), but they play hard for coach Kyle Shanahan.

They look and feel to me a lot more like the Rams than the Jaguars, and if I'm right, it really doesn't matter what happens this Sunday in Minnesota.
