If you are using Allo, then there's a bad news for you as Google is going to shut this down and is shifting the resources to google Duo to make that a medium of rich service communication.

Google's video-calling app Duo has over 500 million downloads recorded in its favor in the Play Store.

The company has said that the users will be able to export their conversation history from the app.

Verizon and Google will be rolling out enhanced messaging (RCS) in the Messages app on Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL beginning this Thursday, December 6th.

In March of previous year, we announced plans to evolve classic Hangouts to focus on two experiences that help bring teams together: Hangouts Chat and Hangouts Meet. Once Google confirms the shutdown of Allo, it will join Google Buzz, Google Wave, and Gchat - technically called Google Talk - in the chat app graveyard.

Google says that it is "focused on delivering a simpler and more unified communications experience", but the sheer number of options it continues to offer at the moment would suggest otherwise. In fact, 9to5Google claims that Google may have meant to announce the end of Allo sooner, but pushed it back when news leaked about its plans for Hangouts. As Google announces in a blog post, Allo will be discontinued in March 2019. Unfortunately, it seems that Google has made the decision to bring down its shutters on the app.

Google's Anil Sabharwal, the Vice President of Chrome, Comms and Photos for the company, has said that Allo never "achieved the level of traction that we'd hoped for". That still leaves Messages, Hangouts Chat, Hangouts Meet, Duo and Google Voice. But with this week's change, it appears that Google no longer believes it can innovate in messaging on the rival platform. All users will be moved to the Slack-like Hangouts Chat and video conferencing app Hangouts Meet-it did the same thing with G Suite users-but there's no word on when this will happen.

Over the past week, a couple of reports had surfaced regarding two of Google's seven messaging apps - Allo and Hangouts. It will continue to work on making Hangouts a more enterprise focused product - a Slack competitor to be precise. Within Settings, users need to tap Chat Export messages from chats and Export stored media from chats.
