Sandra Oh, Andy Samberg to co-host Globes

The Golden Globes-which honors both TV and film-will announce this year's nominees on Thursday, December 6th, in a special hosted by Danai Gurira and Terry Crews. Oh, meanwhile, now stars (and serves as co-executive producer) on BBC America's "Killing Eve", for which she was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama at this year's Emmys.

Awards shows have increasingly suffered from waning audiences, but the Globes has an edge on several fronts: it's considered to have a less formal, more freewheeling spirit (since it's staged as a banquet with an open bar), and it's also typically the first out of the gate in the new year.

Co-producers the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Dick Clark Productions, and NBC sure took their sweet time with the announcement, as the 76th annual ceremony takes place on January 6, just 32 days away.

Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg have been announced as hosts of the 2019 Golden Globes.

Samberg is a two-time Golden Globe victor for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, while Oh won a Globe in 2006 for her work on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. He is a Golden Globe victor for "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and the series, also a Golden Globe recipient for best comedy-musical, launches on NBC Jan. 10, four days after the Globes.
