Injured Arsenal midfielder Mkhitaryan out for up to six weeks



In a medical update on the Arsenal website, they said: "Henrikh Mkhitaryan - Right foot".

Arsenal have confirmed on Monday that attacking midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan will be out for the next six weeks with a broken metatarsal.

The Armenia global has featured sporadically for Unai Emery's side thus far this season, making 14 Premier League appearances but completing 90 minutes just six times.

The 29-year-old suffered the fractured foot, when attempting a shot from the edge of the penalty area, only for Lucas Moura to make a last-ditch challenge.

The pair were involved in a challenge shortly before half time and the Arsenal winger failed to re-emerge following the interval and was not in the match day squad for Saturday's win over Burnley.

Shkodran Mustafi is expected to return to full training this week, after missing the club's last four outings following a hamstring injury.

After the trips to Brighton and Liverpool Arsenal, who are fifth behind Chelsea on goal difference, conclude their festive programme by hosting Fulham on New Year's Day.
