Installing iOS 12.1.2 might break cellular data, calling, and messaging

Last week Apple released iOS 12.1.2 for the iPhone, but had some trouble along the way. Multiple users have started posting their complaints on Twitter stating their phones have gotten bricked and have been rendered useless after upgrading to the latest iOS 12.1.2 update.

iPhone owners located in Europe, Asia, and South America have all taken to Twitter to tell Apple their phones are no longer able to use LTE data. I reset my device and now I can't activate it anymore. An iPhone user in Ireland tweeted that after updating her iPhone 7 to the latest iOS build, her phone says "No Service" and she can not connect to her carrier. "No Service. You better fix this in an update soon!" one U.S. user said.

The new iOS update, iOS 12.1.2 is said to fix bugs with eSIM activation for the new iPhone models and also fix the mobile connectivity in Turkey for the three models but the current problem is that not only is the problems not fixed, users are facing cellular network and mobile data problems.

It's worth pointing out that we haven't faced any cellular data problems to the point where mobile internet goes off completely on our iPhone XS Max. Some also report issues with sending and receiving text messages, while others claim they're also having problems with Wi-Fi connectivity. Some users have even tried hard resetting their iPhone and re-inserting the SIM card, but to no avail.

Some of the affected iPhone users have reached out to Apple Support handle on the microblogging website. This iOS released has no security updates, but comes with software tweaks which have managed to address China's "any possible concern" issue which was concerned with Apple's compliance with a court order which banned selling their older iPhone models in China.

These latest cellular connectivity issues add another letdown for Apple users in 2018.
