In Lebanon, the LBC TV posted an audio message that it said some residents of the border village of Kfar Fila received on their cellphones Thursday warning them to stay away from tunnels.

The few officers entrusted with planning the operation worked in conjunction with the Gaza Division to study the methods to locate the tunnels, but at a certain point it became clear that a different approach would have to be adopted in light of the different geological conditions in the north, that include rocky terrain as opposed to the sandy soil of Gaza.

IDF Northern Command chief Maj. Mudallali stressed that Israel's actions are a violation of United Nations resolution 1701, which was approved resolve the Israel-Lebanon conflict and ended the 2006 Second Lebanon War.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday to update him on the details of a military operation that will destroy cross-border tunnels between Israel and Lebanon, according to a statement released by his office. The Israeli military said it had protectively increased forces along the border and warned Hezbollah to keep its distance from the tunnels.

The meeting, which had been scheduled before the start of the IDF's operation on its northern front Tuesday, aims at discussing the ongoing IDF activities to ensure that the overall calm prevails in the weeks ahead. Kochavi retorted, "I'm sorry my friend, we think entirely differently, UNIFIL don't enter villages and cities [and are therefore not as aware of the situation as the IDF is]".

"Today we have launched Operation Northern Shield".

Strik also presented UNIFIL a map with the location of a second tunnel, along with houses in Lebanon that Israel says are connected to the tunnel. The IDF said that it was certain that the tunnel crossed into Israel, but could not locate the entrance due to the terrain and the weather. "What we are doing with Hamas and with Hezbollah as well - we're doing everything we need to do".

The Trump administration disclosed that Iran is behind the construction of several underground tunnels leading into Israel that Hezbollah militants and other terror forces have been using to conduct attacks, according to multiple USA officials who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon and communicated fears that Tehran is preparing to lead a "massive regional war".

The Zionist regime is aware of the risky changes in the conflict rules with the resistance group in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria, and it knows too well that in the case of war, the three resistance groups will unite against their common enemy.

The Obama administration, in contrast to Trump, was careful to avoid singling out Iran as the chief force for terrorism against Israel and USA allies in the region in hopes of appeasing the hardline regime as it sought to ink the landmark nuclear pact that Trump abandoned earlier this year.
