LG Announces New Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Sound Bars

Kim Dae-chul, head of LG Home Entertainment Company's audio and video business. AI smart connectivity and voice recognition features are implemented as well via integrated Google Assistant support, allowing users to control the sound bars and search for information through voice commands. You should get a richer soundstage with more bass, thanks to Meridian's Bass & Space technology too. They also support both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technologies, which will bring clear surround sound to your living room. With these two acclaimed technologies, users can enjoy breathtakingly realistic surround sound that seems to come from multiple directions and depths.

As The Verge notes in a piece today, "this means you can control all three speakers using voice commands, asking Assistant to raise the volume, identify the song now playing, or cue up your favorite playlist".

All three new audio devices have been created in collaboration with High-Resolution Audio specialists, Meridian Audio. Simply say, "Hey Google, ask LG to turn on the air purifier", to the soundbar to make adjustments without leaving the couch.

The sound bars are created to match the look of LG's OLED TVs, and at 57mm deep, can be installed flush on a wall to save space and "make a sophisticated statement". The SL9 has also already picked up a Best of Innovation honor at the 2019 CES Innovation Awards.

"LG's 2019 soundbars deliver incredible performance tuned in close partnership with Meridian Audio with the convenience of smart AI connectivity", said Kim Dae-chul, head of LG Home Entertainment Company's audio and video business.

We're slowly starting to get a sense of some of the new tech and gadgets that will be on display in a few weeks at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, with companies like LG teasing the reveal of new products they'll be showing off to attendees of the annual tech industry bash.
