In the running for the coveted spot were: Macaulay Culkin, Shark Week, Kieran, TheMcRibIsBack and finally, Publicity Stunt.

"I'd go, 'Well Macaulay Culkin is my middle name".

Ladies and gents, presenting to you, the actor that's now known as Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.

That's right - his first and last name is now his middle name, creating what some fans are calling a CulkInception.

Macaulay's real middle name is Carson, which his parents chose as a tribute to American frontiersman Kit Carson.

Macaulay Culkin has given his fans what could arguably be the world's most unique Christmas gift - by letting them choose his middle name.

If there's one thing you can be certain of in the modern age, it's that asking the internet to name something will never go in your favour, the most notable example being Boaty McBoatface. The 38-year-old actor told Jimmy Fallon that he decided the internet (which always has people's best interests in mind), would be the flawless place to solicit opinions on what his new moniker should be.

The Home Alone actor announced on social media this week that after a public vote on his lifestyle and comedy website, Bunny Ears, he has pledged to legally change his name to Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.

And it was a landslide win for "Macaulay Culkin", which scooped over 60,000 votes - so now, his name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.

Kieran (suggested by Culkin's brother Kieran).

"I was pulling for Camaulay Mulkin".

Macaulay Culkin seems like a goofball just living his best life. "I don't think so", wrote a man under the handle Andrew Harris.

"SAME", Lord of the Rings star Wood wrote.
