"The documents respond to and rebut false allegations that have been made about Her Highness, providing evidence that she is alive and living with her family in Dubai", the statement said.

Sheikha Latifa, a daughter of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, appeared in a YouTube video in March in which she announced she was about to flee. "She said it was worth taking any kind of risk as she had literally had enough of her life in Dubai", Jauhiainen told Sky News.

Latifa was reportedly missing off the coast of Goa, in India, with American national Jean-Pierre Herve Jaubert, a former French intelligence agent and author.

Months after rights groups urged Dubai to reveal Sheikha Latifa's whereabouts, the UAE released the pictures as it sought to confirm she is at home with family.

Rights groups had raised concerns about her wellbeing after global media reports claimed she was forcibly brought back to the UAE.

DUBAI, Dec 24 - The United Arab Emirates said on Monday Princess Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed al-Maktoum, daughter of Dubai's ruler, was at home and living with her family.

The UAE princess Sheikha Latifa, who had fled Dubai to escape her father UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is back in news.

"Photographs taken during the afternoon they spent together have been shared, with their consent", the ministry said, according to The Guardian.

That statement came as footage showed her training for her escape by swimming in a plush pool in scuba gear on February 12.

"If you're watching this video, it's not such a good thing".

She had contacted Mr Jaubert years earlier asking him for help after she had read about him escaping from the country, he has said.

She claimed she was tortured and detained for three years - sometimes in solitary confinement - following her failed attempt to leave the UAE in 2002 as a teenager. "A mutual friend contacted her over phone, and I contacted her on WhatsApp", says Haigh, "She was meant to call me back or have Latifa's brother contact me, but they did not".

In the video statement recorded before this latest episode, Sheikha Latifa said she looked forward to a life of freedom and choices.
