Ubisoft Teases "Far Cry" Announcement at Game Awards 2018

Post-apocalyptic Far Cry to be unveiled tomorrow

Post-apocalyptic Far Cry to be unveiled tomorrow

What other games are you hoping to get sneak peeks at during tomorrow night's Game Awards ceremony? This teaser for this new game appears to suggest that is the canon ending.

A New Far Cry Game - What Happened In Far Cry 5?

The trailer begins by showing a mysterious young woman roaming a brightly coloured, overgrown landscape, punctuated by streaks of striking yellow and purple flora.

It's worth noting that none of the branding or wording in this trailer specifically mentions Far Cry 5. We don't know much about outside of that, but it looks like Far Cry will be taking some inspiration from Fallout and sending us into a post-apocalyptic scenario. Still, that doesn't mean that this will necessarily be a meagre experience.

Just a few moments ago, the publisher released a new teaser trailer for what seems to be a new Far Cry game entirely. What's far more likely is that Ubisoft is teasing some kinda Far Cry 5 spin-off or DLC, something in the vein of Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon expansion. It won't be too long until we find out. All will be revealed in more depth at this year's Game Awards, which take place in the early hours of tomorrow morning, Friday, December 7. And with the show's composer confirming that ten new games will be revealed during the event - and with Nintendo also coyly tweeting about the Awards - it's certainly shaping up to be a show that gamers won't want to miss.
