Alien: Blackout is a Mobile Game Featuring Isolation's Amanda Ripley

20th Century Fox tease a new Alien game that may actually be an interactive movie like Bandersnatch

After the trademark appeared and Hideo Kojima and Geoff Keighley seemed to be teasing it just before The Game Awards, some of us-definitely me-may have gotten our hopes up, but it looks like we'll just have to go back to Alien Isolation.

So we'll have to wait for more details of the game to be released. I really enjoyed Alien: Isolation and was looking forward to this being available on either the console or PC platforms. It also seems a prime candidate for a low-cost Nintendo Switch port, but FoxNext, D3 Go and Rival Games can cross that blindingly obvious bridge when they come to it.

"The terror of Alien is brought to life in Alien: Blackout", reads D3 Go's website.

A NEW CHAPTER IN THE ALIEN FRANCHISE A new chapter in the Alien franchise following the saga of Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley's daughter, between the films Alien and Aliens.

Players will need to use the space station's limited power supply to operate a holographic map, surveillance cameras, and motion tracker, while attempting to remain hidden and protect the crew, according to the site.

For the past few weeks, it was rumored that a follow-up to Alien: Isolation was being planned. However, there's not very much we can pull from the trailer. Bad news: it's a mobile game.

The game also pays unexpected homage to Alien, the 1984 game for the Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum (the second-ever licensed game from the franchise, after 1982's glorified Pac-Man clone).

There's no word on if this game will cost something upfront, or if it will be a free-to-play title.

Rather than being a sequel to Alien Isolation, it was reported to be a squad-based shooter of some sort.

Alien: Blackout is a unique fear-inducing horror premium mobile game experience that will test the inner nerves of both Alien and horror fans alike, where life can end in an instant. Let's see where this goes.
