The 21-year-old Ivory Coast forward has scored 18 goals in 23 games this season, helping his team into second place in the Slovakian Super Liga.

"He's been in the PSG squad and featured for them in pre-season".

Weah - son of former Ballon d'Or victor George, now president of Liberia - will spend the rest of the 2018-19 campaign with Brendan Rodgers' Scottish Premiership leaders. With the quality of players they have, it's hard for him to get in and get any game-time.

Celtic does not have an option to buy Weah at the end of his loan spell. "He has told me it is really intense and it is good to grow as a footballer by playing for this club".

"I'm really looking forward to seeing all the fans at the home game at Celtic Park. I'm so happy and so excited".

"It's great to see him again and it's great seeing how he has progressed and seeing his development at the club and, hopefully, I can do the same".

With Celtic are now short of striking options with former PSG youngster Edouard their only available option - after Leigh Griffiths was given an extended period of leave to deal with off-field personal issues - Weah could be in line to make his first team appearance against Airdrie in the Scottish Cup later this month.

Following the loan signing of PSG forward Timothy Weah and West Brom's Oliver Burke, Brendan Rodgers has bolstered his attack further with the capture of Bayo. Physically he's very good, very fast and is a strong player.

CELTIC this evening announced they have signed Vakoun Issouf Bayo on a four year contract subject to the Ivorian striker passing a medical and being granted a work permit.
